Rick MacBarron, JD*, CFP®, CBEC®, AEP®

Richard K. MacBarron, JD*, CFP®, CBEC®, AEP® is a fee based Estate, Business Succession, Investment and Executive Benefits financial planner who has focused on the needs of the highly affluent for the past 34 years.

In addition to his financial planning practice, Rick has also held management positions within the financial services industry. Rick was formerly the Co Regional Chief Executive Officer of the Irvine California office of Lincoln Financial Advisors/Sagemark Consulting. As a Regional Chief Executive Officer, Rick was involved on a daily basis in the Estate, Business Succession, Investment and Executive Benefits planning areas.

Prior to joining Sagemark, Rick was a Registered Representative of, and a manager with, Aetna Life & Casualty for 11 years. During that time he held a variety of positions involving Estate and Business Succession planning.

Before his Aetna affiliation, Rick practiced law in Connecticut for three years. During his law practice, Rick was active in the fields of Estate and Business planning as well as Estate Settlement and Administration.

Rick is a on the national Board of the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils, he is a member of the Orange County Estate Planning Council, and he is an active member of the Financial Planning Association.

Jonathan (“Jon”) Lee, CFP®, ChFC®

Director of Planning

As a Director of Planning for Lincoln’s National Planning Department, Jon is the primary planning contact for Lincoln’s offices in Phoenix, Greater LA/Westlake Village, Orange County, San Diego, and the California Fringe Benefit RPG. In his role, Jon provides consulting services to Lincoln advisors in all areas of financial planning with specialization in estate and business succession planning. Jon also collaborates with advisors to develop comprehensive personalized financial plans to address their clients’ goals and objectives. Having served on several advisory committees for Lincoln, Jon was heavily involved in developing national planning initiatives so advisors had greater access to the intellectual capital and expertise available throughout the organization.

Jon graduated from the University of California, Davis in 1994 with a double major in physiology and psychology. After a career in the pharmaceutical industry as a research scientist, Jon is utilizing his analytical background to further develop the financial planning practices of the advisors with whom he works.

DOUGLAS B. RICHMOND

  • Primary area of expertise lies within the personal risk management area where he is able to deliver unique strategies and tactics supported by strong product selections.

  • Experienced in developing relationships with property and casualty, private banking and stock brokerage representatives, as well as catering to the needs of business owners and individuals who want to address their wealth preservation and estate planning needs.
